June 11 has been declared Rider Day in the town of Nipawin. Businesses and staff members are encouraged to wear green or Rider gear or do special in store promotions to help Nipawin on its drive to show that Nipawin has the most Rider Pride.
Celebrations are scheduled to take place throughout the week, so be sure to watch for additional details.
A 1,000 word essay is being put together as part of the criteria for Riderville, it included past Rider events, and a history of Rider Pride within the community.
A 30 second video also had to be done in order to participate in the competition.
Many plans to decorate the town is underway.
School's will also be participating and will be looking after coordinating their own events.
Also possible is a pancake breakfast, Rider teas, fundraisers and a flag football event.
Plans are underway to form Saskatchewan's longest cheerleading line, which would mean that the community would come together and form a line on the streets.
Residential homes are also encouraged to participate, by decorating your home with the green and white. There will be a contest for best-decorated block.
The Riderville contest is in conjunction with their 100 years and will help determine where the Riders' best fans live. The entire contest is hosted on www.riderville.com.
The purpose of the contest is to engage communities from every corner of Saskatchewan in demonstrating their passion for football and the Riders. It's hoped that the contest will further cement Rider Pride across the province and country.

Communities benefit from this contest by a variation of prizes. Some of them are: $25,000 to support minor sports, a one day football camp hosted by Riders players, coaches and alumni and a cheerleading camp in the winning community on the same day. The camp would be held in May 2011. There would also be a fan day in Riderville, to take place the same day as the football camp, where the players, coaches and alumni would sign autographs and pictures. If Nipawin would win it would also receive media recognition, the availability of Rider personnel to attend one community based event or fundraiser. The community would be designated as Riderville, which would include road signs welcoming travelers to Riderville. The winning entry would be designated as Riderville for the remainder of the 2010 season and the following football season of 2011.
Four other Saskatchewan finalists would receive $2,500 for their respective minor sports or minor football programs.
Five finalists will be selected by June 30 and announced at the clubs season opener on the Canada Day weekend.
The winner will be determined based on the public's votes.
