What is the Chamber of Commerce?

The Nipawin & District Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization that mobilizes the talents of the business and professional community, thereby providing dynamic and vital leadership for the benefit of the entire community.

The Nipawin Chamber is a working partnership of over 200 business and professional people who, through an elected Board, focus their efforts on planning for future prosperity, development, educational excellence, promotion of the community and a commitment to seek new initiatives to help Nipawin.

The major responsibility of the Chamber is the community’s economic well-being. It works to ensure that he principles of the productive free-enterprise system are continued and our resources facilitated by the growth of existing businesses and the fostering of new ones. The development of new and diversified businesses will result in a firmer economic base for future generations of Nipawin.

What it is not

A department of the town, provincial government, a body politic, a civic club or professional society, as social welfare, a charitable institution, a private publicity or public relations agency and/or profit making organization.

Organization

The Nipawin & District Chamber of Commerce is primarily a business association that includes a President, two Vice-Presidents, a Past President, and elected Board Members, all of whom are drawn from the membership as a whole.

What the Chamber does.

The Board is the governing body of the Chamber. Its responsibility is to perform its broad mandate and to enlist the talents and energies of members to serve as volunteers on its working committees and direct the policies required to carry out its aims and objectives.
